Emily and I were busy doing various tasks and hadn't been paying much attention to the weather before Charlie asked to go for a walk about 4:30 this afternoon. We walked about three blocks away from the cottage when we heard the lifeguards at the beach calling everyone out of the water because of a tornado watch. Turning to go home, we saw this view of the sky over the Little League field that's between the beach and the cottage.
I was reminded that shortly after we moved to Illinois 13 years ago, we decided that the panoramic views of the sky, especially before a storm, almost make up for the flat landscape that took some getting used to.

The sky has been beautiful tonight, hasn't it? Stormy, threatening, sunny, cloudy, and everything in between, all at the same time, depending on which direction you were looking!
Did you see a rainbow? There must've been one somewhere, but I couldn't go out and look for one since I was fixing dinner. . .
Yes, beautiful! But I didn't see a rainbow either. :-(
Now that is some serious looking sky!! That was my daughter's big complaint about being at Wheaton. "Mom, there are now hills, mountains, or anything on the horizen here!" I always do appreciate interesting looking skies!
We have also had most unusual weather the last couple days! Both Weds. & Thurs. we had sun and rain - at the same time. I did see a rainbow and part of second one, also while fixing dinner. It was raining too much to go out and get a good look. Today is just grey and raining...
