Sunday's Hymn: None Other Lamb

None other Lamb, none other Name,
None other Hope in heav'n or earth or sea,
None other Hiding place from guilt and shame,
None beside thee!

My faith burns low, my hope burns low;
Only my heart's desire cries out in me
By the deep thunder of its want and woe,
Cries out to thee.

Lord, thou art Life, though I be dead;
Love's fire thou art, however cold I be:
Nor heav'n have I, nor place to lay my head,
Nor home, but thee.

Christina G. Rosetti, before 1893
Tune: Rosetti, William Jeater, 1907

This is a new one to me, and it's by Christina Rossetti.

Enjoy your road trip to Oregon! It's a perfect time of year to visit. What sites and sights will you get to see there? Don't forget Powell's!

As you know we are having an incredibly 'busy with travel' month too. What adventure stories and photos we'll have.

Very compelling text (of course -- it's Christina Rossetti!) and tune to this one.

Don't know whether you will be online during your trip (and bravo if you aren't!) but I know you're interested in Harriet Beecher Stowe who finally shows up on my blog today, so remember June 14 when you get back.
