Thy way, not mine, O Lord,
However dark it be!
Lead me by thine own hand,
Choose out the path for me;
Smooth let it be or rough,
It will be still the best;
Winding or straight, it leads
Right onward to thy rest.
The kingdom that I seek
Is thine; so let the way
That leads to it be thine,
Else I must surely stray.
I dare not choose my lot;
I would not if I might:
Choose thou for me, my God,
So shall I walk wright.
Take thou my cup, and it
With joy or sorrow fill
As best to thee may seem;
Choose thou my good and ill.
Not mine, not mine the choice
In things or great or small;
Be thou my Guide, my Strength,
My Wisdom, and my All.

Oh, I love these words. Amen.
Dearest Dorothy,
As we have received such dark (to us, in our earthly view) news about my cousin, I'm so grateful for these words today. You have blessed my heart so much.
Love,
Trisha
A brave trusting hymn!
Thanks for sharing this, Dorothy. These aren't easy words but they so true.
It is a joy to read and hear the timeless hymns like these that are so rich with meaning and doctrine. Being in the center of God's perfect will is the best blessing we could ever have, even if we experience it as a trial as we go through it. We must have faith that He will work all things to our good. I am blessed by your blog and will;l follow it, and I invite you to follow my blog, Saved by Grace

May God bless you, Laurie Collett
