I'm really thrilled with all the improvements to our kitchen but...there is always a
but, isn't there? Well, mine was the desire to add curtains to the windows. We already had cell-type blinds but there is such a softness to curtains on kitchen windows. Especially lace curtains. I love the sun filtering in through them! And I had this length of lace from a swag that Emily had on her dorm room window in college so...here's how I spent my "extra" time over the Fourth of July weekend.

I couldn't be more please with the results! The plants are happier having their sun filtered too!
So lovely, light and cheery! Reading about lace curtains always reminds me of the Grace Livingston Hill books I read when I was a teen. Ever read those?
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I love lace curtains and filtered sunlight.
ReplyDeleteMy word verification is "latin". :)
I like your curtains and the teapots on your windowsill.
ReplyDeleteNo, Rosemary, I never read those books. Maybe I should....
ReplyDeleteDorothy,
ReplyDeleteThat was definitely time well spent! I have white lace curtains in my bedroom, and I just love looking at them. :)
Yep. Cafe curtains with a valance is just perfect! There is just something ethereal about sunshine through lace curtains. I also love the look of sunshine through white, seeded sheers. When we first got married (70's) the style was to have sheers under curtains. Ever the rebel, I only had sheers everywhere. Still the rebel, I have(almost) no curtains at all, but your lacey ones are making me rethink that! I think my studio needs lacy sheers, don't you?
ReplyDeleteI too read Grace Livingston Hill's books. Did you ever read the Elsi Dinsmore series?
ReplyDeleteYour 'new' kitchen will be a joy to cook in!
The results are very nice for sure!
ReplyDeleteKim, I do believe your studio needs some lacy sheers!
ReplyDeleteAnd,Willow, I apparently have some catching up to do. I must confess that I've never read any Elsi Dinsmore books either.
Oh my goodness! I LOVE the curtains!
