Prophesy of the New Covenant

31 "The time is coming," declares the LORD,
"when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.

32 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their forefathers
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to them,"
declares the LORD.

33 "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time," declares the LORD.
"I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.

34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,'
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,"
declares the LORD.
"For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more." Jeremiah 31:31-34

Because the whole Word of God points to the Gospel, the finished work of Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross and His resurrection and assumption of the role of our High Priest and mediator, which provides the hope on which believers stand through faith in Him, I am posting an Old Testament passage which prophesies of this Gospel.

Rebecca is inviting us to share our posts related to the Gospel during the month of October. To view other posts or share one of your own, visit Rebecca Writes.

Dorothy!

You beat me to it!

I was going to post that passage from our study yesterday, too!

: D

Maybe I should post 2 Corinthians or Galatians 3?

Great minds run in the same track. . .(truly, though, Scripture speaks loudly to minds that are being renewed by them--there's no 'great minds' about it, is there?)

Great study yesterday. I'm still thinking about it.

It was a great study yesterday! Sorry (sort of) about beating you to it on the posting but truly you are so right about it not being great minds but the power of God's Word over us.

There are so many wonderful Scripture passages to choose from that speak of our great hope in Christ. 2 Corinthians and Galatians 3 are only just two of them!
